MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University will look to build on the momentum it generated this past weekend when it travels to face Sun Conference rival Ave Maria University for a three-game weekend series, beginning Friday afternoon at Ave Maria's Bowie's Ballpark.
The Lions (3-6, 2-1 Sun Conference) took their previous weekend series, earning back-to-back victories on Saturday over host University of South Carolina-Beaufort this past weekend.
Jouseph Renovales had a productive weekend, racking up seven hits and six runs scored through three games.
Ave Maria will enter this weekend's game as losers of four straight – including three lopsided losses to No. 16 Webber International University and mid-week single game loss to No. 2 St. Thomas University.
Florida Memorial has shown the ability to produce runs this season, it's success against the Gyrenes (5-9, 0-3) this weekend – and overall success all season – will come down to its ability to get consistent pitching from its starting staff and bullpen.
