MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University will be looking to put a foot in the ground and change its course when it hosts Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) Saturday morning at Goodlet Park in Hialeah, Florida.

Saturday's match, which is set for an 11 a.m. kickoff, will be at a different home venue for the Lions since its original home field – Dr. Lester Brown Park – was available to accommodate FMU's doubleheader. FMU's men's soccer team will also be playing a home match Saturday and it will kickoff roughly 30 minutes following the conclusion of the women's game.

Perhaps the new pitch could be a boost for Florida Memorial (0-6, 0-2 The Sun Conference) as it tries to earn its first victory of the season. The Lions had a tough outing this past Thursday against University of South Carolina-Beaufort and will need to put that behind them and find some of the same energy and effort it had two weeks ago when set season-highs for shots and goals against Edward Waters University.

The Bees (5-3-1, 0-0-1) should prove to be a more than formidable opponent, though. SCAD has won two of its past three games – including a 3-1 win over Georgia Gwinnett College, which was receiving votes in the NAIA National Soccer Poll – and playing No. 25 St. Thomas University to a 2-2 tie this past Thursday.

Winning this weekend would not only give the Lions and first-year head coach Anna Maliszewska their first victory of the season it would also snap FMU's seven-game all-time series losing streak to the Bees.
