MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University's women's soccer team will look to pull off a potential upset and perhaps capture its biggest win of the season when it hosts rival No. 24 St. Thomas University Saturday at Dr. Lester Brown Park at 11 a.m.

Saturday's match, which will be free to attend for fans, will be the first time that FMU is back on its home pitch of Dr. Lester Brown Park since September 30th. Due to scheduling conflicts, the Lions were forced to play its previous two home matches at a different venue, but the return to their intended friendly confines could provide a morale boost.

The Lions (0-11, 0-7 The Sun Conference) enter Saturday's match having had the most rest they've enjoyed in nearly a month – having a full week off since their last game – and it couldn't have come at a better time as FMU had been bitten hard by the injury bug.

Rested and hoping to have at one or two players back in the lineup, Florida Memorial will be looking to upset a St. Thomas University (8-3-2, 3-2-1) team that has garnered a spot in the NAIA national women's soccer rankings and has proven to be a high-powered offensive team this season. The Bobcats average just over three goals per game and leads the conference in goal-differential.

In what will be the women's soccer leg of the "Battle of Miami Gardens", FMU head coach Anna Maliszewska will want to see her team play with the same pride and resilience that it displayed through the past handful of games – not focusing on the final result as much as laying a foundation for the mentality and brand of soccer that the program hopes to display moving forward.
