MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University will be looking to rebound from its wonky performance on the road this past weekend and create some momentum heading into the final week of the regular season when it hosts Webber International University Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. match in the FMU Wellness Center.

The Lions (9-6, 8-2 The Sun Conference) were dealt a 3-0 sweep at Southeastern University this past Saturday, snapping their three-game winning streak and knocking them out of their tie with St. Thomas University for the No. 1 record in The Sun Conference.

FMU still controls a bit of its own destiny in terms of potentially capturing the regular season "conference title". The Lions would need to win its final three regular season games, beginning Wednesday and rolling into next week's showdown with St. Thomas, and would need the Bobcats to drop at least two of its final three matches.

Taking care of business against Webber International Wednesday should be a mundane task.

In the previous meeting earlier this season, Florida Memorial used a raucous Warriors crowd to help spark their 3-1 victory. Lions senior outside hitter Sammyra Albarran had one of her best performances of the season against WIU – probably aided by the jeers from the crowd – leading the team in kills, digs, and service aces.

Webber International (10-19, 1-9) enters Wednesday night's match having lost its past three matches – two by sweeps – and already mathematically eliminated from contention for the Sun Conference postseason tournament.

FMU head coach Marrita Crockett-Moulton's job Wednesday will be more about making sure her team is mentally prepared to execute and show once again that it is the superior team against the Warriors and not to look ahead at the final two games next week.
