MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University's women's soccer program will be looking to tie a victorious bow on its 2021 season when it travels to face NCAA Division-II opponent Barry University (Fla.) Thursday night at Buccaneer Field in Miami Shores, Florida.

The Lions concluded its Sun Conference schedule this past weekend with a tough loss at Ave Maria University, a result that carried multiple stingers as FMU loss two more starters to injuries during the match and it also cemented its fifth-straight season it has gone winless against conference opponents.

For Florida Memorial first-year head coach Anna Maliszewska, all the attrition that her team has faced this season will only serve as a sharpening agent for her young team – valuing "good process" over results to help set a new standard for the program moving forward.

Historically, the two teams have split their two all-time meetings with the Lions winning the last matchup – a 2-1 win back in 2010.

Barry University will also be looking to end its regular season with a victory and capture its third win over a NAIA opponent this season Thursday. The Buccaneers (6-5-3, 3-3-3) haven't been a very high scoring team this season, totaling 17 goals through 14 games.

If the Lions are able to generate and then cash in on any scoring opportunities, perhaps they could topple the Buccaneers Thursday.
