Lady Lions Fall To St. Thomas In First-Ever Flag Football Game

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University made "her-story" Saturday as it played its first-ever collegiate women's flag football game but couldn't come away victorious on the day as it fell 23-0 to host St. Thomas University.

The Lady Lions, who joined five other Sun Conference (NAIA) schools in becoming the first colleges to have collegiate women's flag football, saw Saturday's game end early as the Bobcats' 23-point lead turned on a mercy rule in the fourth quarter.

Florida Memorial (0-1, 0-1 The Sun Conference), which will travel to face Warner University next Saturday (Feb. 27), trailed by just seven at halftime but saw St. Thomas force a safety and tack on a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter.

Khloee Caudell completed 6-of-22 passes for 51 yards with 3 interceptions. Linsley Francois tied for the game-high in receptions with 3 for a team-best 20 yards.
