MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – After back-to-back weekends on the road, Florida Memorial University will be back inside the friendly confines of Harry T. Moore Field this weekend as it plays host to Bryant & Stratton College-Albany for a three-game, non-conference weekend series beginning Friday.

The teams will play a single game Friday (March 12), which is set for a 2 p.m. first pitch. Saturday will feature a doubleheader, with the first game slated to begin at 12 p.m. and the second game of the day is set to begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first.

Per University health and safety guidelines, a limited number of home fans will be allowed to attend the weekend's games. Also, current Florida Memorial students and staff members will be allowed to attend the games with proof of a recent negative (healthy) COVID-19 rapid via a school-issued wristband.

The Lions took a trip to the Palmetto State (South Carolina) this past weekend to take on Voorhees College, where they took two of three from the Tigers – including setting a new season-high for runs scored in their 16-6 win in the third game of the set.

Winning the non-conference series at Voorhees also evened up FMU's season record (8-8) after it fell a couple games below .500 following its series sweep at the hands of No. 15 Keiser University two weeks ago.

In welcoming Bryant & Stratton-Albany – an independent NAIA-level program – to Miami Gardens, FMU will be taking on a team that has struggled – mightily – this season. The Bobcats (1-15) enter weekend having lost its past 12 games, a lion's share of those defeats coming at the hands of other Sun Conference opponents.

Since the beginning of March, Bryant & Stratton was handed losses by Webber International, St. Thomas, Ave Maria, and Keiser University. Also, since March 1st, the Bobcats are on pace to play 16 games in a 14-day span – as they're scheduled to take part in the Palm Beach Challenge Baseball tournament on March 14 then travel to face University of South Carolina-Beaufort for two games on March 16th.

Florida Memorial should be able to take advantage of the careworn Bobcats this weekend, especially if its bats are able to make the kind of noise they have for much of this season.
