MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – While Florida Memorial University's volleyball team was feeling good following its dominant 3-1 win over Sun Conference preseason No. 1 team Keiser University this past Wednesday, it can't rest on its laurels or bathe in its social media praise, instead the Lady Lions must be ready to face another tough test this weekend when they host undefeated College of Coastal Georgia Saturday at 2 p.m. in the FMU Wellness Center.

Fans are welcome to attend Saturday's match, as there will be free general admission. Facial coverings are required for fans inside the arena. Also, the match will be streamed live via the FMU Athletics Streaming Portal and can be viewed for free.

FMU (2-3, 1-0 The Sun Conference) made a big statement earlier this past week with the win over Keiser. Kimberlie Correa and Biancaliz Cruz led the way as the Lady Lions won the first two sets comfortably, dropped a close fourth set, then ended the game with a lopsided 25-10 victory.

Cruz finished with a game-high 15 kills and 7 service aces while Correa was a huge presence at the net – totaling 7 blocks to go along with 9 kills.

Florida Memorial head coach Marrita Crockett-Moulton even tested the depth of her roster against the Seahawks – using reserves Mar Danes and Oliva Dodd in the serving rotation.

When the Lions take on Coastal Georgia Saturday, they'll not only be looking to earn a second straight conference and hand the Mariners their first loss of the season, but they'll be also looking to snap a home losing streak against CCGA. Florida Memorial has lost its past three matches against the Mariners played in Miami Gardens.

Defeating College of Coastal Georgia (13-0) won't be an easy task though. Inside of being undefeated, CCGA has swept (3-0) seven of its past eight opponents – including sweeps of NCAA Division-II's Savannah State University (Ga.) and NCAA Division-III's Wesleyan College (Ga.).

The Marines also have a standout talent in Giovana Larregui Lopez, a multi-time winner of the Sun Conference's attacker of the week and defender of the week honors.

One of the keys to a Lions victory this weekend will be FMU cleaning up its serving. The Lions committed 19 service errors against Keiser and they may not be able to atone for those mistakes against an opponent like Coastal Georgia.
