MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University's volleyball program will be out to extend its Sun Conference – and overall – winning streak to when it travels to Lake Wales, Florida to face Warner University Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at WU's Turner Athletic Center.

The Lions (3-3, 2-0 The Sun Conference) have won its past three games overall, including a pair of big conference wins this past week against Keiser University and College of Coastal Georgia.

Florida Memorial made a statement with the wins over Keiser and CCGA as the former was the preseason No. 1 team and defending TSC regular season and tournament champion while the latter came into the match undefeated before facing the Lions.

FMU junior outside hitter Biancaliz Cruz and junior middle blocker Kimberlie Correa both shined bright during the two matches this past week. Cruz, a former Sun Conference Freshman of the Year Award winner, led the team in kills in both games while Correa used her 6-foot-2 frame and athleticism to be a force at the net – totaling 13 blocks through the two matches and ultimately earning TSC Defender of the Week honors this past Monday.

Lions head coach Marrita Crockett-Moulton has also pressed all the right buttons with her lineup, even getting contributions from reserves Mar Danes and Olivia Dodd this past week.

As hot as Florida Memorial has been, it still must be sharp and go about the business of earning a victory against Warner University Wednesday. The Royals have struggled recently – losing their past three matches, including back-to-back conference losses to Southeastern University and St. Thomas University.

In the 42 sets Warner University (3-9, 0-2) has played this season, it has only won 14 of them and has won just two set in the past three games.

A victory Wednesday would not only keep FMU perched comfortably atop the early TSC standings, it would also be the Lions' fifth straight win over the Royals since 2018.
