Freitas scores second goal of season as FMU falls to Webber

BABSON PARK, Fla. | Florida Memorial (0-9-0, 0-7-0) scored a late-goal, but it wasn't enough in a 7-1 loss to Webber International in Sun Conference action.

Midfielder Driade Freitas was able to find the back of the net in the 86th minute, scoring her second goal of the season for the Lions. Striker Amealia Smith continued to pressure Webber's goalkeeper, producing a team-high two shots on goal.

FMU goalkeeper Hailey Ilijin generated 12 saves and has surpassed 100 saves for the season.

The Lions return to action on Thursday, October 27 as they host Thomas University on Senior Night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Broward College South Campus Turf Field.
