Foster scores late goal in conference match against Thomas on Senior Night

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. | Florida Memorial (0-10-0, 0-8-0) scored a second-half goal but eventually came up short in a 6-1 loss to Thomas University in Sun Conference action. The game was dubbed "Senior Night" as two seniors, Driade Freitas and Emerita Garcia were honored at halftime.

Striker Jamaya Foster was able to find the back of the net in the 51st minute, scoring her first goal of the season for the Lions. Striker Amealia Smith used her speed to pressure the back line throughout the contest, producing one shot while Freitas generated a team-high two shots on goal.

FMU goalkeeper Hailey Ilijin generated 13 saves and allowed six goals in the loss while teammates Johana Karbanova, Nathaly Valladares and Oneilia Yearde battled the Night Hawks attackers all evening long.

The Lions return to action on Monday, October 31 as they host Florida National. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Broward College South Campus Turf Field.
