Lions MBB Set To Travel To Webber International For Regular Season Finale

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University will be looking to end its regular season on high note and build momentum as it prepares to head into the Sun Conference Postseason Tournament next week when it travels to face a struggling Webber International University team Saturday afternoon in WIU's Sabbagh Athletic Center.

Saturday's game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start but it will officially tip-off 30 minutes following the conclusion of the preceding women's game between the teams.

FMU enters the weekend with positive vibes following its 109-75 win over junior college opponent Johnson University (Fla.) this past Thursday.
Senior center Jethro Tshisumpa turned in the best game of his career, notching a 24-point, 18 rebound double-double to lead the Lions past the Suns.
Florida Memorial has already clinched its berth in the Sun Conference Postseason Tournament – the first in head coach Ansar Al-Ameen's four-year tenure.
The Lions are 2-2 in their past four TSC games – with the four games being decided by a combined seven points.
Al-Ameen was able to rest guards Corey Benton and Eric Hester, forward Jacobi Gordon, and center Mubashar Ali this past Thursday – leaving the quartet fresher for this weekend and next week.

Scouting Webber International (8-19, 3-12 TSC)

Webber International enters the weekend as a struggling team sitting the basement of the Sun Conference standings.
The Warriors have shown a bit of moxie over the past week – defeating Thomas University and only losing to St. Thomas University 70-68.
Senior guard Jaylon Myles continues to lead the team in scoring, posting 14.6 points per game while shooting 38.6 percent from three-point range.
WIU will be celebrating its "Senior Day" Saturday.

Series History

The Lions dominated WIU 103-65 in their first meeting this season.
Florida Memorial trails the all-time series against Webber International 8-9.
