Florida Memorial Flag Football Topped By Thomas University Saturday

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University took steps in the right direction as a team Saturday and even made a bit of a rally attempt but couldn't come away with the ultimate prize – a victory – Saturday afternoon as it fell 27-18 to Thomas University at St. Thomas University.

How It Happened

  • Lions athlete Thaymiluz Santos connected with Kayla McDuffie and Ericka Johnson on her two TD passes.
  • Thomas University built its lead on the dual-threat ability of quarterback Kiana Acol, who ran for three scores in the first half.
  • Florida Memorial's defense stiffened in the second, holding the Night Hawks to just seven points.
  • FMU's two first-half interceptions halted drives and created extra scoring opportunities for TU.
