MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University will be looking to make it a perfect 2-0 mark in their road trip through the Peach State while also extending its season-best winning streak when it takes on Thomas University Saturday afternoon in the TU Gymnasium.

Saturday's game is set for a 4 p.m. start but will officially tip-off 30 minutes following the conclusion of the preceding women's basketball game between the programs.

About The Lions (12-7, 8-4 TSC)
  • FMU won its third-straight game this past Thursday as it outlasted College of Coastal Georgia 87-85 in a tough battle.
  • Eric Hester was the high point man with 19 points against CCGA and led the five different Lions' players who all finished with double-digit points.
  • The past three wins were all against Sun Conference opponents, helping put Florida Memorial into a three-way tie for second place in the TSC standings.
  • FMU recently added a pair of players to its roster in forward Jonathan Vilchez and guard Ryan Maxwell; Vilchez has appeared in two games while Maxwell has yet to log any minutes.
  • For the first time in head coach Ansar Al-Ameen's tenure, the Lions could earn regular season sweeps of three different TSC opponents if they defeat Thomas.

Scouting Thomas (10-12, 4-8 TSC)
  • Thomas enters the weekend as losers of its past two games while winning just one of its last five outings.
  • The Night Hawks lost to St. Thomas University 79-80 this past Thursday. St. Thomas was also the last team to defeat FMU prior to the Lions going on their winning streak.
  • Tim Williamson leads TU in scoring this season, turning in 13.4 points per game. He also leads the team in rebounding at 6.2 boards a night.

Series History
  • Florida Memorial trails the all-time series between the teams 11-6.
  • The Lions won the first meeting between earlier this season 78-70, a game that saw senior guard Corey Benton record a 21-point, 13-assist double-double.
  • FMU is just 2-6 all-time when playing at Thomas University.

Keys To Victory
  • The Lions have to their best to limit TU guard Jordan Booker. The 5-foot-10 guard possesses elite speed and body control and will use them both to draw fouls or create shots for teammates.
  • FMU's guard play continues to be its own differentiator. Benton and Hester are two of the most talented guards in the conference and make plays on a nightly basis. What lifts the Lions is when Anfernee King and Carington Campbell provide lifts on both sides of the floor.
