FMU athletics earns Champions of Character Five-Star Institution award for 2021-22

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. |  After missing out on the previous year's awards, Florida Memorial athletics earned Silver Status for the NAIA Champions of Character for the 2021-22 school year.

"I'm proud of our student athletes for achieving Silver Status for the NAIA Champions of Character." said Florida Memorial's Champions of Character Coordinator Brianne Blades. "Character is more important than how good you are in a sport. Your athleticism is only temporary, but your character and the type of person you are, lasts forever. We didn't get recognized last year as an athletics department, so this is improving from last year, Blades explained. "Next year we hope to get Gold."

The last time FMU athletics received such an award was in the 2019-20 school year, when the department achieved Silver Status.
