FMU falls to Webber 20-7 at Bunche Park

Costly turnovers ended crucial late-game drives for the Lions.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial fell to Webber in their second game of the season at Bunche Park.

FMU's Hailey Stanton got the nod as lead quarterback and led the team in several drives, including her first touchdown pass of the year to tie the game at 7 apiece. However, two late interceptions killed the momentum of any comeback attempt.

However, Amealia Smith came up with a timely interception put the Lions in prime position to put more points on the board, but the offense could not punch it in the end zone after scoring their first touchdown of the season.

The Lions return to action on Thursday, February 23 as they travel to Lake Wales to face Warner. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
