MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial won their first game of the season in an 18-0 shutout over Fort Lauderdale at Bunche Park.
FMU averaged 11.63 yards per play in a very efficient evening for the offense that scored three total touchdowns.
Early in the contest, FMU starting quarterback
Hailey Stanton connected with
Thaymiluz Santos on a 59-yard pass for the first touchdown of the game. Before the half, Lions running back
Kayla McDuffie scampered across the goal line for another FMU touchdown.
FMU's defense came up big on drive after drive, not allowing the Eagles to find the end zone all evening long.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, March 4 as they travel to Thomasville to face Thomas. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. in Georgia.
