MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Late in the fourth quarter, FMU had a chance to tie the game with a 2-point conversion, but the attempt was unsuccessful as the Lions fell to St. Thomas 14-12 in the Battle of Miami Gardens.

Late in the contest,
Ronisha Gibbs produced a crucial interception and gave life to FMU, who eventually scored a touchdown before failing to convert the 2-point conversion, which would have tied the game late in the fourth quarter.
Michaela Sampson and
Orianna Brooks both finished with seven tackles each against the Bobcats, who won their ninth straight game of the season.
The loss ends the season for Florida Memorial, who struggled to find a SUN victory for consecutive seasons, finishing 0-10 in conference play and 2-10 overall.
