Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | For the first game of the new year, Florida Memorial earns a hard-fought victory over Concordia (Quebec), defeating the Canada-based team 74-68 at the FMU Wellness Center. Despite trailing by one at the half, the Lions roared in the second half, outscoring the Stingers 35-28 to grab the victory. 

Philly native Derrius Ward led the team in scoring with 16 points, going 6-of-14 from the field and 3-of-6 from downtown. Indy native Latavious Mitchell followed suit with 12 points along with eight rebounds while senior Chanze Cruesoe chipped in 11 points for the Lions.

The win marks the fourth straight for FMU, improving their record to 12-1 on the season.

The Lions return to action Saturday, January 6 where they'll host Warner in the conference opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
