LAKE WALES, Fla. | Florida Memorial struggled in their season opener against Warner, losing 34-14 to the Royals on the road.
After the first half, the Lions were down 14-6 with the game in reach before the Royals scored 20 second-half points to pull away.

Thaymiluz Santos got the nod as the lead quarterback for the Lions throwing two touchdowns in her debut as FMU's signal caller.
The loss drops FMU to 0-1 to start the season and 0-1 in conference play.
The Lions return to action, on Saturday, February 24, where they'll host Keiser University in the home opener. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Bunche Park.
