FMU flag football falls 30-18 to Webber International

Lions drop to 0-5 for the first time in program history.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. |  After tying the Warriors at the half 6-6, the Lions kept pace with the Warriors and took the lead in the third quarter 18-12. Webber answered with 18 unanswered points to reclaim the lead and the victory, handing defeat to the Lions.

Junior Diamond Mays threw one touchdown while fellow signal-caller Thaymiluz Santos added a touchdown on the ground. Miami native Ronisha Gibbs took a 60-yard return to the house, while standout Ericka Johnson caught one touchdown in the game.

The loss drops FMU to 0-5 on the year and 0-4 in conference play.

The Lions return to action Tuesday, March 19, where they'll host Warner for round two between the SUN Conference rivals. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Teddy Bridgewater Field at Bunche Park.
