FMU flag football dominates Reinhardt 18-0 for first win of season

Florida Memorial wins its first conference game in program history.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | The wait is over! Florida Memorial dominates Reinhardt 18-0 to secure their first win of the season. The win marks the first win in conference play in program history and the first win for FMU head flag football coach Jameel Smith.

Starting quarterback Thaymiluz Santos put together a stellar performance, throwing for two touchdowns in the victory. Juniors Vanessa Queen and Ericka Johnson caught one touchdown each on offense, propelling FMU to the victory.

Juniors Ronisha Gibbs and Amealia Smith pulled in one interception on defense, with Smith taking it to the house for a touchdown.

The win advances Florida Memorial to 1-7 on the year and 1-6 in conference play.

The Lions return to action Thursday, March 28, where they'll travel to Keiser for the second game of the season against the Seahawks. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. in West Palm Beach, Fla.
