MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University's baseball team is gearing up to defend their 2023 championship at the prestigious 2024 Black College World Series. The tournament is set to take place from May 8-11 in Montgomery, Ala.
This year marks the fourth annual event, which will feature a competitive format consisting of two divisions. One division will host four NCAA Division II teams, while the other will include four NAIA teams. Both divisions will follow a double-elimination format, ensuring an exciting series of games that will test the skills and resilience of each team.
The tournament promises to be a thriller with the winners of each division facing off in a one-game playoff to determine the ultimate champion.
Acting Coach Andre Payne is at the helm, leading the Lions to their fourth consecutive appearance in the tournament. The FMU community is excited and is all set to rally behind the team as they embark on this journey to defend their title.
