MIAMI GARDENS. Fla. | Florida Memorial University's volleyball team struggled against No. 10 St. Thomas University, falling 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-12) in the Battle of Miami Gardens.
The Lions generated 18 kills in the match, led by freshman
Desiree Donald with nine, but surrendered 44 to the Bobcats. Freshman
Lauryn Brown led the team in assists with 16, while freshman
L'Fe Roberts led the team on the defensive end with five digs.
The loss drops FMU to 1-13 on the year and 0-5 in conference play.
The Lions return to action Monday, September 30, when they'll host Florida College. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
