GAINESVILLE, Fla. | Florida Memorial University freshman track and field athlete Isaiah Webb set two school records over the weekend at the RADD Sports College Invitational.
In the men's mile, Webb produced a time of 4:45.46, finishing in 33rd place while setting a new school record. In the same meet, he also competed in the men's 3,000 meter run, producing a time of 10:10.51, good for 64th place, also setting a new school record. Both times set at the meet were personal records (PR) for the freshman from Atlanta.
"There is more work to be done," said Webb.
In other events, senior
Omar Kelly finished second overall out of 40 runners in the men's 400 meters, posting a time of 49.20.
In the field events, FMU quarterback
David Buggs set a personal record in the men's shot put, throwing a distance of 13.38 meters, finishing in sixth place.
The Lions return to the track on February 7 as they travel back to Gainesville, Fla. for the Celebration Pointe Classic.
