Second-half comeback propels FMU to 3-3 tie against Southeastern

LAKELAND, Fla. | After going down 3-0 in the first half, Florida Memorial University mounted a second-half charge against Southeastern, with three goals to tie the Fire on the road.

Southeastern kicked off scoring early, with two goals in the first seven minutes, before adding a third in the 43rd minute to put FMU in a first-half deficit. The Lions answered big with their first goal of the match, courtesy of Mohamed Sadiki, in the 50th minute. FMU added their second goal in the 63rd minute, when Frank Sanchez found the back of the net, for the second time this season. Down by only one, the Lions found the equalizer thanks to Rafael Coronado, who's fifth goal of the season tied the match in the 66th minute, resulting in the 3-3 tie.

Goalkeeper Ricardo Delgado Villalobos played all 90 minutes, finishing with three goals allowed and two saves.

The tie moves FMU to 2-5-3 on the year and 0-1-1 in conference play.

The Lions return to action Wednesday, October 8, when they'll host Warner in conference play. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Dr. Lester Brown Park.
