MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University's football team gets set for their first home game of the season, this Saturday, September 27, against Cumberland. This will be the first home game under new head coach Michael Jones, who looks to lead the Lions to their first win of the season.
"There's nothing like playing at home," said Jones. "Our players and coaches are excited for this opportunity to defend our home turf. The energy our fans bring makes our home games special and it's a huge lift for our players."
This will be the third match up between FMU and Cumberland, and the first at Betty T. Ferguson Stadium. The Lions have an 0-2 record against the Phoenix, most recently falling 47-35 in Lebanon, Tenn. last year. This is the second game of the Mid-South Crossover, after the season opener against Reinhardt on August 30th.
"We can't wait to get out there after having two bye weeks," said Jones. "We've had a great week of practice going 1-0 each day, now it's time to go out there and perform."
The home opener will be live streamed on
Urban Edge Network, as well as the
SUN Digital Network. Live stats will be provided for the game, which fans can follow along by
