Sofia Mclauglin joined the FMU women's soccer team in fall of 2023.

A native to Pensacola, Fla. Mclaughlin previously attended Alverno College and Rock Valley College for one year each, where she played on their women's soccer teams. Mclaughlin graduated from Milton High School in 2020 in Milton, Fla. Under heach coach Coach Jeff Klug she won four varsity letters, all for soccer.She was voted Most Improved All Four Years in addition to the All Star Team in her senior year & made it to last round of the playoffs for the first time in program history her senior year. She was also a part of the track & field team. During high school, Mclauglin was a part of multiple clubs, including the Spanish club, chess club, & class club. She also  coached kids with disabilities and volunteered at the local church on numerous occasions for food drives or events.

Mclauglin played for the West Florida Soccer Club in Milton, Fla. for four years under head coach Jeff Klug Louie Sahan.

Mclauglin chose FMU because she wanted to move back home. She had moved to the Midwest from the Panhandle of Fla. and never realized just how different the south is. When they “southern hospitality exists”, it really does. Her favorite part about FMU is how everyone is from either different backgrounds or different cultures but yet all have the same mindset of that southern hospitality.

Mclaughlin can write with both hands. The most influential person in her life is her mom.
