Florida Memorial University women's basketball team pulled off a 65-64 win over Johnson & Wales Saturday afternoon at the Wildcat Center. Florida Memorial outscored Johnson & Wales 32-20 in the second quarter. With the win, the Lady Lions improve to 3-4 in conference play.

In the first half, Johnson & Wales jumped out to a ten point lead at 23-10, but Florida Memorial cut the lead to one point, going into halftime down 43-42.  

In the second half, both team's offenses continued to exchange baskets, with FMU leading by as much as 6 points.  With less than 8 minutes to go, Johnson & Wales made a run and were able to cut the lead to 1 point, but the Lady Lions came back with a roar and made baskets down the stretch to win the game. Florida Memorial shot 32 % for the game and out-rebounded their opponent by a 46-28 margin. 

Victoria Jones led the Lady Lions with 21 points, 7-12 FG shooting (2-3 free throw shooting) and grabbed 3 rebounds. Ashley Henry poured in 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, while Taylor Payne contributed 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Lady Lions return to the court Thursday night (Jan. 12^th) when they host to Voorhees College for a 6:00 p.m. tip off.
