(MONTGOMERY, Al.) -- The Florida Memorial women's basketball team will travel to Faulkner University this weekend to take part in the Jimmy Faulkner Classic, November 1-2.
The Lions enter the weekend with a 1-0 record after defeating the University of the Virgin Islands in a shattering 102-47 game.
Junior
Airneisha Gamble lead the way for the Lions and finished the game with 14 points. She was one of five player that finished in double-digits with scoring including senior
Isis Lane (12) and sophomores
Nashley Zayas (12),
Meaurie Pickett (11) and
Unique Tate (10).
On Friday, November 1 at 12:15P.M. FMU will take on Life University in what will be the season opener for the Running Eagles. Life finished last season 18-11 overall.
The Lions will finish the weekend against the home team Faulkner University, Saturday November 2 at 3P.M. The Eagles are 2-0 so far this season after defeating Oakwood University and Pensacola Christian.
