MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Having snapped its two-game losing streak this past Saturday, Florida Memorial University's women will enter its showdown with Sun Conference foe Warner University looking to avoid a letdown and earn its second-straight victory Thursday night in the Turner Athletic Center.

Both FMU's women and men will be making the trip to Lake Wales, Florida for TSC doubleheader, with the men's teams taking the floor 30 minutes following the end of the women's game.

The Lady Lions (9-10, 4-5 Sun Conference) need to avoid a letdown Thursday not only because they want to remain in control of their postseason destiny, but because they'll be going up against a Warner University (2-17, 0-9) team that currently sits in the cellar of the conference standings and has lost nine of its past 10 – including five straight – games.

Florida Memorial made fairly easy work of the Lady Royals in its November meeting, picking up a 71-52 win thanks in large part to Isis Lane's 20-point, 13-rebound, and 5-block performance.

It was Lane who starred for FMU when it earned a hard-fought 71-68 win over Keiser University this past Saturday. FMU, which begins the second half of its home-and-home conference schedule with Thursday's tilt with Warner, rode the strong performance of the senior – as she started a new streak of consecutive games registering a double-double as she scored 21 points and pulled down 16 rebounds while also swatting five shots – all game-highs.

Lane's big day was supplemented by three other Lady Lions' double-digit scoring days – led by Danielle Bailey's 16 points.

FMU head coach Gregory Stanback has seen his team come out on the right side of the scoreboard whenever three or more Lady Lions finish with at least 10 points.

Conversely, it's been a tough stretch for the Lady Royals. Warner University has been outscored by an average of 15.4 points per contest over its current five-game losing streak, which includes losses to Keiser University and Thomas University – two teams that Florida Memorial beat over the past two weeks.

Lane should once again be able to dominate the backboard and control the paint against the Royals; while guards Airneisha Gamble, Shawnice King (who missed the past two games with a lower extremity injury), and Bailey should be able find favorable matchups against Warner's backcourt.
