MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University's women will be looking to maintain control of its postseason destiny by picking up a crucial conference win Saturday when it hosts Webber International University in the FMU Wellness Center at 2 p.m.

The Lady Lions (10-10, 5-5 Sun Conference) enter Saturday's game riding a two-game winning streak – having made easy work of Warner University this past Thursday – and can possibly move into the top four of the conference standings by knocking off Webber International (11-9, 5-5).

FMU defeated the Lady Warriors 72-66 in their first meeting back in November – which, ironically was in the midst of the Lions' longest winning streak of the season – as Florida Memorial had three players score 15 or more, led by Isis Lane's 17 points and 18 rebounds.

Since returning from a two-game hiatus on Jan. 9-11, the 6-foot-4 Lane has been every bit of the player FMU's women's coaching staff thought she'd be when she came in from Texas Southern University. The senior has recorded three straight double-doubles, including back-to-back outings with 20 or more points. Lane's also been a defensive force in that span, recording 2 or more blocks in all three games and really shining in FMU's win over Keiser University, when she rejected five shots.

From the tenor of their first meeting – and their identical conference record, the Lions and Warriors are evenly matched squads. November's game had 11 lead changes and eight ties before the Lions seized control of the game with a 13-3 run that turned a one-point deficit into a 67-58 lead with just over two minutes left in the game.

As it was the case in FMU's first win over the Webber International (11-9, 5-5) and as its shown to be in all of the other Lions victories, Florida Memorial needs tangible contributions from a handful of players in order to be successful.

A season-record 11 players recorded points in FMU's landslide victory over Warner, but Saturday will likely be a more competitive contest like last week's win over Keiser in which only seven different Lady Lions recorded points but four of them finished in double figures.
