MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University's women's basketball team will be looking to start its first winning streak of the 2020-21 season when it travels to West Palm Beach, Florida to take on Sun Conference rival Keiser University Saturday afternoon.

As it will be the case for much of the season, Saturday's women's game will be the first game of a women-men doubleheader – with the Lady Lions set to take the Massimino Court floor at 2 p.m. and the men scheduled to tip-off 30 minutes following the conclusion of the women's game.

Also par for the course will be "no visiting fans" policy for the games. Keiser University will not be permitting fans to attend the game; however, it will be streamed live online for free for fans to view.

Florida Memorial (2-2, 2-1 The Sun Conference) enters the weekend ready to win consecutive games for the first time this season. The Lions rode a season-best 35-point, 13-rebound performance from junior guard Keaynna Tolbert to an 83-69 win over Ave Maria this past Wednesday and hope that the momentum from that road victory can carry over.

As Tolbert broke down the Gyrenes defense and got to the basket almost at will, she also extended her streak of games in which she totals at least 18 points – a feat she's accomplished in all four of FMU's games this season.

Lions head coach Gregory Stanback has a case for having one of – if not the – most talented duos in the Sun Conference with the combo of Tolbert and junior Jamari Tolbert. Tolbert has her own streak going – scoring 10 points or more in all four of Florida Memorial's games this season – and plays with a fiery swagger that complements Tolbert's more even-keeled demeanor.

Standing in FMU's way Saturday will be a Keiser University team that has underwhelmed this season. The Seahawks have yet to win a game this season (0-3, 0-1) and have yet to eclipse the 65-point mark in any game. Keiser is also limping in after being drubbed 77-60 by Southeastern University.

Look for FMU to turn a lion's share of its defensive attention to Keiser senior guard Emily Patton. She's averaging 22 points and 8 rebounds per game this season and it was Patton that sank a buzzer-beating three-pointer that handed Florida Memorial a tough 68-67 loss this past season.

It'll be interesting to see if the Lions will have either or both Anjelie Tirone or Micah Cooper back in the lineup Saturday. Tirone, the team's lone senior and best rebounder, missed the past two games for an undisclosed reason while freshman guard Cooper has missed all four game with an upper extremity injury.

Still, Stanback's squad will need the offensive production of Tillman and Tolbert needs to continue while also getting tangible contributions from the rest of the roster.
