MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University's women's soccer team will play the final game of its three-game road stint Sunday as it takes on host Edward Waters University at EWU's Glover Community Field & Stadium at 2 p.m.

The Lions enter hunger for a better showing on the pitch, having dropped its previous two road games at NCAA Division-II opponents in lopsided affairs that didn't even see FMU be credited with a shot in either match.

Previous two outcomes notwithstanding, Florida Memorial (0-4) first-year head coach Anna Maliszewska had seen incremental improvement from her squad – specifically in the team's September 9th meeting with Florida National University where the Lions recorded season-highs in shots and shots on goal – and has remained encouraged by her team's commitment to giving full effort each time it takes the pitch.

Standing across the field Sunday will be a Edward Waters team that has been "feast or famine" with its results this year. In the Tigers' (2-3) two wins, they've won by slim 1-goal margins – including a 1-0 win over Florida National earlier this week – and in the three losses, EWU has loss by a combined score of 2-23.

Perhaps the experience of lining up against two NCAA D-II teams will pay off for Florida Memorial against the Tigers – giving the team a bit of a confidence boost, which could lead to a boost in offensive production from its more potent scoring threats Amealia Smith, Natalie Puntonet, and Mariana Rincon.
