MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Sometimes a struggling team needs a "get right game", a matchup with a team lesser team that should result in a victory to rebuild confidence and momentum – something that Florida Memorial University could use as it looks to snap a two-game losing streak when it hosts a beset Florida National University team Wednesday night in the FMU Wellness Center.

About The Lions (8-6, 5-2 TSC)

FMU enters Wednesday's game having dropped its previous two games – both against conference opponents.
Turnovers were the thorn in the Lions' paw Tuesday against No. 2 Southeastern University, as Florida Memorial committed a season-high 29 turnovers.
Junior guard Natalia Leguizamon did turn in a season-high 22 points in the loss Tuesday, including knocking down a season-best five three-pointers in the game.
The Lions' defensive effort was commendable against the Fire, nabbing 17 steals and forcing SEU into 26 turnovers.
Injuries have begun to mount for Florida Memorial; head coach Gregrory Stanback has been without three frontcourt players – 6-foot-3 centers Da'Marreya Johnson and Danielle Jackson and 5-foot-11 forward Dasani Williamson – since late November in addition to 5-foot-10 forward Cheyanne Whitfield likely missing the entire 2021-22 season with a lower extremity injury.
FMU continues to rely on its guards; Leguizamon, Aliyah-Deen Ahmad, Keaynna Tolbert, and the recently-returned Jamari Tillman, who had been out since the 2020-21 season with a lower extremity injury.

The Conquistadors enter the matchup Wednesday having not played a game in just over a month – last playing on December 18th.
FNU has been a modest offensive team this season, scoring just 59 points per game while shooting 34 percent from the field.
Brianna Richarson leads the team (among players with more than five game played) in points per game, turning 8 points per contest.
Florida National turned the ball over 29 times in its previous meeting with FMU earlier this season, slightly above its pace of committing 21 turnovers per game this year.
