FMU drops close contest to Lindsey Wilson in game 2 of STU Holiday Invitational

Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | The Lions dropped a close contest in a 76-71 loss to Lindsey Wilson in game two of the St. Thomas Holiday Invitational at the Fernandez Family Center.

Florida Memorial led 19-11 at the end of the first quarter, but the Blue Raiders outscored FMU 22-13 in the second quarter and took a narrow lead into halftime. Lindsey Wilson outscored FMU 46-30 in the second and third quarters (combined) to eventually pull away with the slim victory.

Reigning Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week Tianna Ayulo produced a game-high 28 points and shot a blistering 11-for-14 from the field, including 4-of-6 from downtown while teammate Chantel Barnett filled the stat sheet with 18 points, six boards, four assists and three steals in 32 minutes of play for the Lions, who fall to 9-5 overall.

The Lions return to action on Thursday, January 5 as they face Southeastern. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in Lakeland, Fla.
