MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University will be in complete control of its postseason destiny when its travels to face Webber International University this weekend, as the winner of the 2 p.m. game in WIU's Sabbagh Athletic Center will earn the No. 2 spot in the final Sun Conference standings and a first-round bye in the upcoming TSC Postseason Tournament.

Saturday's loser will be the 3-seed and host an opening round game against the No. 6 seed team.

In addition to the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds being decided, the game between the Lions and Warriors can affect seeds four through six.

Keiser University can clinch the 4-seed with a win Saturday or a Webber International win while Ave Maria University can clinch the four-spot with a win Saturday and a Florida Memorial win. Also, if Ave Maria loses Saturday, it would clinch the 5-seed with a FMU win. St. Thomas University, the current six-seed, can get the No. 5 seed with an AMU loss and a Webber win.

About The Lions (15-8, 11-4 TSC)
  • FMU enters the weekend a rested group, being off since its loss at nationally-ranked No. 2 Southeastern University on Feb. 12.
  • Even with the recent loss at SEU and no matter what Saturday's outcome is, the Lions will finish the regular season with fewer than 10 losses for the first time in head coach Gregory Stanback's eight-season tenure.
  • Stanback also recently surpassed 100 victories for his career as the FMU head coach, earning his 100th win back on Feb. 3 in the team's 75-64 win over College of Coastal Georgia.
  • The Lions have completely bought into playing its own brand of "small ball', often going with four-guard lineups spearheaded by Keaynna Tolbert, Natalia Leguizamon, Aliyah-Deen Ahmad, and Chantel Barnett.

Scouting Webber International (19-6, 11-4 TSC)
  • Webber International enters the weekend reeling from its 53-69 upset loss at St. Thomas University this past Thursday.
  • The Warriors had a poor shooting night against the Bobcats – 32.8 percent from the field, 23.8 percent from three-point, and 30.8 percent from the free throw line.
  • WIU has been without fifth-year guard Deja King since mid-December, a big loss since she was the team's leading scorer through the 13 games she played.
  • Warriors freshman guard Jaida Burgess, a Miami, Florida native, has scored at least 11 points in nine of the past 10 games – including a team-high 16 points against Florida Memorial back on Jan. 13.

Series History
  • Florida Memorial lost its first meeting against WIU earlier this season – a 64-78 defeat in which the Lions shot just 11.8 percent from three-point range.
  • The Lions trail the all-time series against the Warriors 6-12.
  • FMU has lost the previous six meetings and is 3-7 when playing on WIU's home floor.

Keys To Victory
  • As simple as it sounds, the Lions must make shots. Their half-court offense is heavily dependent on their ability – chiefly Leguizamon – to knock down three-pointers.
  • Rebounding will also be a big factor – FMU loss the rebound battle against WIU in their first meeting.
