MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – After having its season-best winning streak snapped in what was one of its worst shooting performances of the season, Florida Memorial University will be looking to get a bit of quick revenge while also giving its seniors a win in their final regular season home game this season when it hosts Ave Maria University Thursday night in the FMU Wellness Center.

About The Lions (14-7, 10-3 TSC)
  • FMU had its winning streak snapped after six straight wins this past Tuesday against the Gyrenes, losing 70-71 in overtime.
  • The Lions played at Ave Maria Tuesday in a makeup game from the January 8th date that was postponed. Thursday's game is the originally scheduled second meeting between the teams.
  • Florida Memorial shot a season-low 28.7 percent from the field Tuesday.
  • The Lions saw Keaynna Tolbert lead all scorers with 23 points, but she also committed 10 turnovers.
  • Also, Natalia Leguizamon – the team's and conference's leader in three-point shooting percentage – failed to knock down a shot from long range Tuesday; only the third time that's happened this season.
  • Even with the loss at Ave Maria, Florida Memorial still sits in the No. 2 spot in the Sun Conference standings and still controls its own destiny to potentially earn a top-two seed in the final standings.

Scouting Ave Maria (12-10, 5-7 TSC)
  • Ave Maria has won three straight games after upending the Lions Tuesday.
  • Two Gyrenes players registered double-doubles in Tuesday's game.
  • Three AMU players are averaging double figure points, led by Lavariah Armstead's 13.5 points a night.
  • Ave Maria has been a solid defensive team this season, holding opponents to 36.9 percent shooting from the field.
  • AMU currently sits in the No. 6 spot in the Sun Conference standings – the final qualifying spot for the postseason tournament.
Series History
  • FMU leads the all-time series against Ave Maria 11-6.
  • Prior to Tuesday's loss, the Lions had won the previous four meetings.
  • Florida Memorial is 7-1 all-time at home against AMU.

Keys To Victory
  • The Lions must put Tuesday's game in the rearview mirror and look at Thursday's game with a clean slate.
  • FMU should shoot better in its home gym – they cannot have another sub-30 percent shooting performance.
