MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University will be looking to earn its first Sun Conference win this season in what will be its final road game of the year when it travels to Thomasville, Georgia to face Thomas University Thursday afternoon at the TU Soccer Complex.

About The Lions (1-8, 0-8 SUN)
  • While FMU has been trudging through a tough stretch, it did snap a streak of games in which it hadn't produced points – getting a "pick-six" interception return for a score in its game at Warner University this past Thursday.
  • The Lions got on the board thanks to Kayla McDuffie's INT – her first of the season.
  • Though the result showed a 20-7 loss against Warner, it was a one-possession game at in the second half with Florida Memorial threatening to score and potentially tie the game.
  • FMU's defense ranks in the top half of the Sun Conference for total interceptions this season.
  • Lions head coach Jonathan Alvarez has used Diamond Mays and Ja'Shya Christie at quarterback this season while Erika Johnson has been a favorite target of both – as Johnson leads the team in receiving.

Scouting Thomas (10-1, 6-1 SUN)
  • Thomas enters Thursday's tilt riding an eight-game winning streak, including back-to-back wins over SUN opponents.
  • A first-year program, TU has had a meteoric rise to the top of the conference standings.
  • Night Hawks head coach Chelsea Parmer earned her 100th career victory with the team's win over Keiser University this past week.
  • Thomas University has scored three touchdowns or more in six games this season.

Series History
  • The Lions trail the all-time series between the teams 0-1.
  • Thomas University won the previous meeting 27-18 when the teams met on a neutral field at St. Thomas University back in February.

Keys To Victory
  • FMU's offense must find its juice and produce points and do its best to keep pace with Thomas' potent offense.
  • Conversely, the Florida Memorial defense needs to create turnovers whenever the opportunity presents itself – snagging tipped or errant passes.
