MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University will be looking to end its season on a high note when it hosts St. Thomas University Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Bunche Park Field in what will be its regular season finale.

About The Lions (1-9, 0-9 SUN)
  • The Lions enter the midweek tilt still shaking their collective heads following their one-point loss to nationally ranked Thomas University this past week.
  • FMU stymied the Night Hawks offense, nabbing three interceptions – one from each Ericka Johnson, Vanessa Queen, and Thaymiluz Santos.
  • Florida Memorial ranks in the top half of the Sun Conference in interceptions this season.
  • FMU's offense continues to be largely inconsistent. It will hit on big plays down field – like it did on its lone scoring play against TU, a 64-yard touchdown pass from Ja'Shya Christie to Linsley Francois – but those only come after long stretches of minimal to modest gains.
  • Lions head coach Jonathan Alvarez will honor his team's graduation seniors in a ceremony at halftime of Wednesday's game.

Scouting St. Thomas (6-4, 5-3 SUN)
  • St. Thomas rolls in as winners of its past two games – both conference victories.
  • The Bobcats defeated Florida Memorial 46-6 in their first meeting earlier this season at STU.

Series History
  • FMU trails the all-time series against St. Thomas 0-3.
  • Technically, Wednesday's game will be the fourth meeting between the programs, however, it will be the third on-field matchup because the March 27, 2021 game was not played – it was a forfeit loss for the Lions.

Keys To Victory
  • The Lions must continue to play with pride and buy-in. The team nearly toppled a nationally ranked foe this past week because of its attention to detail.
