BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | With a total of 79 points, Florida Memorial finished in fourth place at the SUN Indoor Men's Track and Field Championships at the Birmingham Metro Crossplex.
Ghanaian native Saminu Abdul-Rasheed led the way in the men's 60 meter dash with a first place finish, posting a time of 6.73 seconds while teammate
Jaylyn Session came in second place with a time of 6.77 seconds. Later, Abdul-Rasheed picked up a fourth place finish in the 200 meter dash, posting a time of 21.74 seconds. With a time of 22.38, Session followed with a 10th place finish.
Daniel Ermilus and
Daniel Caldwell finished 12th and 17th respectively, posting times of 22.66 and 23.17 seconds.
In the 400 meter run, Caldwell, Ermilus and
Omar Kelly finished eight, ninth and tenth place, posting times of 50.80, 50.82 and 50.86 respectively.
FMU distance runner
Ali Milline earned a fourth place finish in the 600 meter run, posting a time of 1:24.69. With a time of 2:40.88, he later generated an eight place finish in the 800 meter run. Teammate
Antonio Thomas held it down for FMU in the hurdles, earning a fourth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles, posting a time of 8.72 seconds.
FMU's 4x4 meter relay team, consisting of Ermilus, Abdul-Rasheed, Caldwell and Milline, finished fourth with a time of 3:27.62.
In the field events,
Jaylen Coleman earned a first place finish in the triple jump, posting a mark of 15.21 while fellow Lion
Favion Harden finished 13th, posting a mark of 11.96 meters. Coleman also earned a third place finish with a mark of 6.93 meters while teammate
Christian Edgerson finished fourth, posting a mark of 6.89 meters.
FMU's Narrson Tullock dominated the throwing events and picked up two second place finishes; one in the weight throw (16.23 meters) and another in the shot put (14.52 meters).
