GAINESVILLE, Fla. | Florida Memorial University had multiple players set personal bests in its trip to the Legends of Alachua County Invitational.
On the women's side, senior Taela Campbell opened her season with a personal best in the weight throw with a distance of 14.27m, placing fourth. She also placed fourth in the women's shot put.
In the women's 60m sophomore Shanise Ellis set another personal best with a time of 7.76 and teammate Yasmyne Williams set a personal best in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.86, just shy of the national qualifying B standard mark of 8.81.
Men got off to a great start with Narrson Tulloch placing third in the weight throw with a 15.75m, in his first meet of the year. Sophomore Braylon Colgrove hit a time of 6.89 in the 60m. In the men's 200m junior Isaiah Palmer finished with a 22.28, freshman Savion Barnes finished with a 22.65 and freshman Mense Houndje finished with a 23.57.
The Lions return to action Friday, February 6, for the Celebration Pointe Classic in Gainesvile, Fla.
