MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial begins a national search for its next head flag football coach. Jonathan Alvarez will not be retained after completing a 2-10 season in 2022-23.

"We thank Coach Alvarez for his commitment to the FMU flag football program," said Director of Athletics Jason Horn. "Our expectation continues to be competitive in the Sun Conference."

Alvarez completed his second full season, leading the program and finishing his tenure with an overall record of 4-25. He joined the Lions in the summer of 2020 after a tenure at Mater Academy girl's flag football program.

A national search for a successor will begin immediately.
