MIRAMAR, Fla. | The Florida Memorial men's track and field team participated in the Last Chance Meet in order to qualify for the
2023 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on May 24-26 in Indiana. Overall, the Lions had a total of three members earn first place finishes over the weekend.
FMU sprinter
Saminu Abdul-Rasheed earned a first-place finish in the men's 100 meter dash, posting a time of 9.99 seconds. He also picked up a first place finish in the men's 200 meter dash, posting a time of 20.52. Abdul-Rasheed currently holds the top time in the entire NAIA in both the 100m and 200m.
In the men's triple jump, FMU's
Jaylen Coleman earned a first place finish, leaping a distance of 14.87 meters while teammate
Narrson Tulloch finished first in the men's shot put, posting a mark of 15.41 meters. He also finished second in the men's discus, posting a mark of 45.54 meters.
