FMU's Arevalo, Gobet, and Coronado earn Men's Soccer All-SUN Conference honors

TAMPA, Fla. – The 2024 All-Sun Conference Men's Soccer Teams were announced Wednesday afternoon, following votes by the league's nine head coaches, with Florida Memorial University producing three players across two all-conference teams.

Lions striker Johan Arevalo and defender Tibo Gobet both earned first-team All-SUN honors while midfielder Rafael Coronado landed on the second-team.

Regular Season Champion Keiser led the All-Conference selections with a dominant performance, placing eight athletes on the First Team and securing more than half of the available spots. The Seahawks also had two players named to the Second Team.

St. Thomas followed with seven total honorees. The Bobcats' Guido Cacciabue earned his fourth All-Conference honor, making the First Team, while six other athletes received Second Team recognition. SCAD Savannah also made a strong showing with two players on the First Team and two on the Second Team.

The remaining honors were distributed among other schools, with Florida Memorial and Southeastern each contributing key players across both teams. Webber International and Ave Maria rounded out the selections, each earning a player on the Second Team.

Eight representatives were repeat winners from last year (Mikael Baisotti, Guido Cacciabue, Victor Cavalcante, Gabi Villafane, Timo Boomkens, Tibo Gobet, Santiago Nebot, and Teo Rondon). 

The 2024 Sun Conference Men's Soccer Championship begins on Thursday, November 7th. The single-elimination tournament will open with two quarterfinal matches: Florida Memorial (No. 6 seed) at St. Thomas (No. 3 seed) at 7:00 p.m. and Webber International (No. 5 seed) at Southeastern (No. 4 seed) at 4:30 p.m. SCAD Savannah (No. 2 seed) and Keiser (No. 1 seed) will await the winners for matchups on Monday, November 11th.
