Despite being down by one goal at the half, FMU found the equalizer in the second half before allowing three late goals to the Fire, ending their season at the SEU Soccer Field and eliminating them from postseason play.
The Lions allowed one goal in the first half, but tied the match in the 61st minute when speedster
Amealia Smith found the back of the net to tie the match. However, the Fire went on to score three straight goals to overtake FMU, ultimately knocking them out of the SUN Tournament.
The Lions finish the 2024 season with a program-best 8-7-2 record. Third-year head coach
Marc Lue Young led the program to new heights, including its first winning season in history and its first postseason appearance, along with three All-SUN Conference selections. He was named 2024 SUN Conference Women's Soccer Coach of the Year earlier today, as it was announced by the conference.
