Box Score 2 MOBILE, Ala. | In the debut of new head coach Nancy Sikobe, Florida Memorial University volleyball team fell to the University of Mobile in three sets (25-12, 25-13, 25-15) at the H. Austill Pharr Gymnasium.
As a team, FMU produced 17 kills, led by freshman outside hitter
L'Fe Roberts (nine kills) but allowed 44 to their opponent. On the defensive end,
Taela Campbell led the way with 17 digs while teammate
Kamaya Knox finished with a team-high two blocks in the loss.
In game two for the Lions, FMU fell in three sets to Dillard University (25-15, 25-16, 25-18). Freshman
Chandler Thomas led the team with six kills while
Julia Carneiro produced a team high three blocks against the Lady Bleu Devils.
Amari Nunez led the team with 13 assists, but it wasn't enough as FMU dropped to 0-2 on the season.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, August 23 as FMU faces Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) at the H. Austill Pharr Gymnasium. First serve is set for 11 a.m. in Alabama.
