MOBILE, Ala. | After dropping back-to-back contests, Florida Memorial University earned their first win of the season in a 3-1 (24-26, 25-15, 25-15, 25-20) victory over Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) at the H. Austill Pharr Gymnasium.
In game two of today's action, the Lions fell to Louisiana Christian in three sets (25-17, 26-24, 25-21).
"Playing these tough schools early on is the only way we can gauge ourselves with our conference," said new Lions head coach Nancy Sikobe.

A full statistical breakdown will be provided shortly for both games, including the contest where Sikobe earned her first career victory as FMU head women's volleyball coach.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, August 31 as they host Mobile in the home opener. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
