HENDERSON, Tenn. | March Madness is officially here, and Florida Memorial University's Men's and Women's Basketball teams are ready to make their mark on the national stage as they compete in the 2025 NAIA National Championship Tournament tonight! Both teams have fought their way through a competitive season and now enter the first and second rounds of the tournament with championship aspirations.
FMU Women's Basketball Ready for the Challenge
The FMU women's basketball team has made history by securing their second NAIA National Championship Tournament appearance in three years! After an impressive season capped off by winning the Sun Conference Championship, the Lions enter as the #7 seed in the Henderson, Tennessee regional bracket. They will face #10 seed IU Northwest (Ind.) in the first round on Friday, March 14, at 8:00 PM EST (7:00 PM CT).
A victory will advance FMU to the second round on Saturday, March 15, at 5:00 PM EST (4:00 PM CT), where they will take on the winner of #2 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) vs. #15 Johnson (Tenn.).
FMU's Award-Winning Stars Take the Stage
Fans should keep an eye on FMU's standout stars as they lead their teams into March Madness. Kamesha Moore, the Women's Basketball Sun Conference Player of the Year, has been dominant all season and will be a key player to watch in the tournament.

Furthermore, Kevin Herod, head coach of FMU Women's Basketball, was named Sun Conference Coach of the Year, a testament to his leadership and the team's success this season.
