MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Florida Memorial University volleyball will tip off its 2025 season this Friday at the Keiser University Tournament in West Palm Beach, Fla., marking the start of Head Coach
Nancy Sikobe's second season at the helm of the Lions' program.
FMU will face a challenging two-day schedule, beginning Friday with a 2 p.m. season-opening match against St. Francis University, followed by a 4:00 p.m. contest against the College of St. Mary. The tournament continues on Saturday, August 16th, with FMU taking on Spring Arbor at 10 a.m. and concluding the day's play with a match against Florida National at noon.
Coach Sikobe enters the season with a youthful roster that showed steady improvement throughout last year. This season's squad includes eight newcomers joining seven returners, bringing fresh energy and depth to the court. Leadership will be anchored by second-year standouts
L'Fe Roberts and
Julia Carneiro, whose experience and on-court presence are expected to help guide the Lions through a competitive schedule.
"This group has been working hard all preseason," Sikobe said. "Even though we are still young, I believe our returning leaders have set the tone for what we want to accomplish this year. We are looking forward to testing ourselves right away against strong opponents."
The Lions' participation in the Keiser Tournament will provide an early opportunity to gauge their growth, build team chemistry, and establish the competitive edge needed for the season ahead.
